The big clash
Thunivu is an action entertainer and AK is expected to perform some high-octane action scenes. Vijay's Varisu is billed to be a family drama. So, Thunivu might have an edge over Varisu in this aspect.

Thunivu is distributed by Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies. Seven Screen Studio is backing Varisu. Stalin assured both the films will have an equal number of screens to make a fair competition.
Distribution
Tollywood filmmaker Vamshi Paidipally has helmed Varisu. Rashmika Mandanna will play the leading lady. Thunivu, helmed by H Vinoth, has Manju Warrier as the leading lady.

Varisu will be released in Tamil and Telugu languages on January 12. Thunivu will see its release a day ahead of Varisu i.e., January 11.
