By Isha Sharma

1

Intro

A solid beginning sets the stage for a movie, but a powerful climax is what people remember. When the film takes an unexpected turn, it can lead to an anti-climax, which leaves viewers dissatisfied.

2

Meaning

An anti-climax can be called a sudden let-down or shift in tone after a narrative build-up, which is often seen as disappointing and unexpected. It may also leave viewers confused.

3

Negative interpretations

Anti-climaxes in movies are mostly viewed negatively by the audience who invest their time and emotions in the story and hope for a happy ending.

4

Example

For instance, two people resolving their differences after a long fight or a knight going on long adventurous crusades but eventually losing can be termed as anti-climactic.

5

Unexpected movie endings

Examples of such movies include 'Paan Singh Tomar,' 'No Country for Old Men,' and 'Aashiqui 2,' among others.
