Manoj Bajpayee's film 'Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai' faces legal trouble as self-proclaimed godman Asaram has sent a legal notice to the makers after the trailer release.

Bajpayee to play a lawyer

Bajpayee plays the role of lawyer PC Solanki, who fought against Asaram in the rape case of a minor, in an upcoming film. Asaram is currently serving a life sentence.

In the notice to the makers, Asaram claimed the upcoming movie could tarnish his image and hurt his devotees' sentiments.

Makers react to the notice

The film's producer, Asif Shaikh, confirmed receiving the notice and said that the legal team will file its response soon. The biopic was made with rights bought from the original lawyer.

OTT premiere

The ZEE5 original movie, 'Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai," directed by Apoorv Singh Karki, will premiere on May 23. The film will be available to stream online from the platform ZEE5.
