SAG-AFTRA establishes strike rules

SAG-AFTRA (the Screen Actors Guild) is preparing to join WGA on the picket lines. The union has outlined rules in case a strike is called on Wednesday.

Deadline to end in 48 hours

On June 5, SAG-AFTRA voted to authorize a strike if a fair deal couldn't be reached by June 30. This deadline was later extended to July 12.

Key bargaining issues

Prior to the strike authorization vote, the guild laid out key bargaining issues, including economic fairness, the use of AI, and the shift to self-taping.

SAG-AFTRA's rules

SAG-AFTRA has informed that actors will be permitted to attend the convention but they cannot attend any panels that promote a film or television show.

Online promotion is forbidden

"SAG-AFTRA members are also not permitted to promote any work on social media, as that is considered publicity," the union stated.
