Ranbir opens up on 'Animal's masculinity

'Animal' has polarized viewers, film critics, and celebrities. In a promotional video, Kapoor recently opined that it sparked a "healthy conversation" on toxic masculinity.

Kapoor said, "There is a very healthy conversation that has started about toxic masculinity also, which is a great thing because cinema, at least, starts a conversation."

Viewers' responsibility 

Kapoor argued, "The roles we are playing, those are characters. It is very important that as actors, we have empathy for them. But as an audience, you should decide what's wrong."

Javed Akhtar's critique 

Veteran screenwriter Javed Akhtar recently called the success of 'Animal' "dangerous." Akhtar had said, "The image of a hero should be created with an awareness of what is right."

Swanand Kirkire's reaction

'Animal' generated criticism from other celebrities too, with actor-lyricist Swanand Kirkire earlier tweeting, "After watching the movie, I really felt pity for the women of today's generation."
