Protesters march against anti-drag law

Intro

On Sunday, thousands protested in West Hollywood, USA, against anti-drag laws passed by Tennessee. The new law bans public drag shows so that kids don't watch them.

Drag queens

The term "drag queen" refers to men who cross-dress as women in an exaggerated and flamboyant manner. They are often seen in plays, drag shows, and LGBT pride parades.

The protest

Protesters marched in support of the LGBTQ+ community, particularly transgender individuals. To note, drag queens/artists are counted in the LGBTQ+ community.

Government's law

Tennessee's Governor has stated that the law is for child protection and restricts adult cabaret performances in public or in the presence of children. There's a fine up to $2,500.
