Oscars 2023: Best Actor, Best Actress

Brendan Fraser and Michelle Yeoh won the Best Actors (Male and Female) categories at the 95th Academy Awards. Yeoh is the first Asian woman ever to win in this category.

Best Actor

Fraser won the Best Actor Academy Award for his portrayal of an obese middle-aged man in 'The Whale,' beating other notable actors like Colin Farrell and Paul Mescal.

Best Actress

Yeoh beat her toughest competitor Cate Blanchett ('TAR') and several others to win the award for 'Everything Everywhere All at Once.'

Fraser's gratitude

Fraser got extremely emotional on the stage and expressed his gratitude towards the Academy, the studio A24, and 'The Whale' director Darren Aronofsky.

In her speech, Yeoh encouraged young boys and girls to pursue their dreams and motivated women to never believe 'they are past their prime.'
