#MadeInHeaven team denies stealing ideas

Author Yashica Dutt recently called out 'Made In Heaven' makers for using her ideas without permission, but the episode director and showrunners have denied her claims, asserting it's based on a fictional character.

Misleading comments

On Thursday, in a joint statement, the makers said that the comments are "misleading" and they have not appropriated Dutt's life or work.

Outrage

Their statement has led to even more outrage and X users are unconvinced. Several people have demanded the makers to apologize to Dutt instead of fueling the fire.

Dutt's response

Quoting one tweet, she wrote, "Dalit women are the easiest to take from, what's the worth in their labor anyway. It's for everybody to claim."

Episode director Neeraj Ghaywan had earlier thanked her book 'Coming Out as Dalit' and added that it inspired their fictional character Pallavi.
