Hailing from Kanpur, Srivastava's father Ramesh Chandra Srivastava was a noted Hindi poet. He found his skills as a child as he enjoyed mimicry and impersonating personalities.
Srivastava began his Bollywood career after he gained notice as Amitabh Bachchan's look-alike. He appeared in films like 'Baazigar,' 'Maine Pyar Kiya,' and 'Aamdani Atthanni Kharcha Rupaiya.'
The comedian rose to fame after he participated in the stand-up comedy show 'The Great Indian Laughter Challenge.' He emerged as the second runner-up. After this, there was no turning back.
In 2014, Samajwadi Party selected Srivastava for the Lok Sabha polls but he returned the ticket due to less support from local units. Later, he joined Bharatiya Janata Party the same year.
