The city of Glendale, in Arizona, has decided to change its name for two days to welcome singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, who will be performing there on March 17 and March 18.

Swift is a chart-topping pop singer who has sold over 200M album copies worldwide, won 12 Grammy Awards, and is the most streamed woman on Spotify.

Glendale's Mayor Jerry P Weiers will likely read a proclamation on Monday and the city wishes to do "something highly unusual" to commemorate Swift's arrival.

Glendale city administration plans to welcome Swift with messages and themed menu items at local restaurants during her two-night stay on March 17 and 18.
