‘EEAAO’ leads Oscars race

On Tuesday (IST), the nominations for this year's Academy Awards were announced. This year, the comedy sci-fi drama 'Everything Everywhere All at Once' led the race with a total of 11 nods.

Apart from Best Picture, it won Best Actress (Michelle Yeoh), Supporting Actress (Jamie Lee Curtis, Stephanie Hsu), Supporting Actor (Ke Huy Quan), Director (Daniel Kwan-Daniel Scheinert) nods.

Record

Yeoh scripted history by becoming the first Asian female actor to be nominated for Best Actress. Although Merle Oberon is considered the first Asian to do so, reportedly she hid her ancestry.

Runners-Up

'The Banshees of Inisherin' by Martin McDonagh and 'All Quiet on the Western Front' by Edward Berger tied for second place with nine nominations each for the 95th Academy Awards.
