Disney to combine Disney+ and Hulu

Disney CEO Bob Iger has announced that Disney+ and Hulu will be merged into one app. This news comes after Q3 financial report in which Disney lost 4M subscribers.

Iger has announced plans to bundle Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ for a more unified streaming experience and greater opportunities for advertisers.

Most of the loss for Disney has come from India since the IPL is now broadcast on JioCinema. Moreover, the removal of HBO content is another factor.

Disney plans to remove some content from its streaming services and is reviewing its content to align with strategic changes. The Disney app is expected to launch by the end of 2023.
