Chrisann Pereira released from jail

Bollywood actor Chrisann Pereira, who was arrested in Sharjah in connection with a drug-smuggling case, has been released from jail.

Wrongly framed

Pereira was arrested on drug charges and released from jail after being allegedly framed by one Anthony Paul by stuffing drugs inside a trophy she was carrying for an audition.

Actor will return home in 48 hours

According to her brother's social media post, Pereira will be returning to India within 48 hours.

Police arrested two accused

Mumbai Police arrested Paul and Bhobhate for framing five people as drug mules, including Pereira. Paul was the mastermind behind it and is being investigated for drug peddling.

Accused was seeking revenge

Paul, a bakery owner, reportedly wanted to take revenge on Pereira's family after an incident where he tried to beat their pet dog with a chair during the COVID-19 lockdown.
