Injured in action sequence

Amitabh Bachchan recently suffered a rib injury while shooting an action sequence for his upcoming film Project K. The film also star Prabhas and Deepika Padukone.

Fatal 'Coolie' shoot

In 1982, he almost died while shooting for Manmohan Desai's 'Coolie'. After a mistimed jump, he was punched in the gut by Puneet Issar and fell unconscious during an action sequence.

Prayers for recovery

The nation came to a standstill when Bachchan was admitted due to the near-fatal accident. His lower abdomen was bleeding profusely. India prayed for his speedy recovery.

Altered movie climax

Bachchan finally recovered from the injury and completed the film's shooting. Later, the makers changed the movie's climax due to the accident. Originally, Big B's character was to die at the end.

Declared 'clinically dead'

Bachchan was declared clinically dead for a couple of minutes by the doctors. He was revived after adrenaline injections were given.

Recalling the accident

Years later, the megastar opened up about the accident in a blog post. He recalled how the doctor took a last chance and started to pump adrenaline injections that revived him.
