Minus its climax, ‘Kantara’ was an average flick, with a predictablestoryline that was prominent in the ‘80s. Its protagonist Shiva, too, is problematic and is shown as an utter misogynist.
‘Vikram Vedha’
This was an exact replica of its Tamil counterpart, with indigestible twists and turns. The action sequences, too, dragged on forever, and the film had no memorable female characters.
‘Vikrant Rona’
It can be best described as a visual spectacle marred by a threadbare plot.If we remove the 3D sequences, the film had no other solid standings; there’s only so much Sudeep could do.
‘Rocketry’
R Madhavan’s directorial debut wasa tale of two halves, and its scientific jargon really slowed the screenplay down. An emotionally potent second half, too, couldn’t salvage the film.
‘Gehraiyaan’
The film’s dependence on its biggest star, Deepika Padukone, was obvious from the first frame, and the narrative was dull and switched gears unnecessarily. An underwhelming watch.
