Meta plans to fire more employees

Layoffs loom ahead

Meta is reportedly planning to axe more employees, with non-engineering positions expected to be the worst hit. This is aimed at flattening the company's organizational structure.

Mark Zuckerberg has deputized human resources, lawyers, and financial experts to develop strategies to flatten the company's structure. Some managers will be pushed to lower-level roles.

Not a fan

Zuckerberg is not a fan of Meta's organizational structure. He is against the idea of multiple layers of managers in a single team.

More cuts

During the latest earning calls, Zuckerberg indicated that Meta was far from done with layoffs. He said 2023 will be the "year of efficiency."

Performance review

Hinting at more job cuts, Meta recently gave subpar ratings to 10% of its workforce or around 7,000 employees.
