Maruti Suzuki has showcased a flex-fuel prototype of its highly popular model, the WagonR. The prototype is designed to run on ethanol blends between E20-E85.
Design
Maruti Suzuki WagonR's flex-fuel prototype has a muscular clamshell bonnet, swept-back halogen headlights, a chrome-accentuated grille, 15-inch steel wheels, and vertically-positioned taillamps.
Engine
The ethanol-backed Maruti Suzuki WagonR gets a new fuel system witha heated fuel rail, an ethanol sensor, an upgraded engine management system,a fuel pump, and a fuel injector for durability.
Interior
Maruti Suzuki WagonR's flex-fuel prototype gets a five-seater cabinand features fabric upholstery, manual AC, an engine start/stop button, a touchscreen infotainment panel, and dual airbags.
Price
Maruti Suzuki should introduce its first flex-fuel car by 2025. If launched, the ethanol-powered WagonR will carry a premium over the regular model, which starts at Rs. 5.47 lakh in India.
