Kia EV9 electric SUV goes official

South Korean automaker Kia Motors has revealed the production-specific version of its EV9 SUV. It should go on sale by early 2024. It draws power from an e-powertrain.

Importance

Kia EV9, based on the E-GMP platform, is the first electric mid-size, three-row SUV and one of 15 EVs promised by the brand by 2027. It may be launched in India.

Design

The Kia EV9 features a unique design with a flat bonnet, narrow grille, and stylish elements such as S-shaped DRLs, flared wheel arches, and wrap-around taillamps.

Performance

The Kia EV9 is expected to have one or two electric motors, an all-wheel-drive system, and a powerful battery pack that will deliver a range of around 480km.

Price

Kia Motors has not yet revealed the pricing and availability details of its EV9 SUV, but it is expected to have a starting price of around $50,000 in the US.
