Harley-Davidson Nightster in the works

Harley-Davidson is planning to introduce a second offering based on the X 440. The company has trademarked the name Nightster 440 in India recently.

Design

Harley-Davidson Nightster 440 will retain the overall design of the X 440 and shall feature a muscular fuel tank, an all-LED lighting setup, an upswept exhaust, and machined alloy wheels.

Performance

We expect the Harley-Davidson Nightster 440 to use the same 440cc, single-cylinder, air-and-oil-cooled motor from the X 440. The mill develops 27.4hp/38Nm. The mill will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

Safety

The upcoming Harley-Davidson Nightster 440 will sport disc brakes on both wheels, along with dual-channel ABS, inverted front forks, and dual rear shock absorbers to ensure rider safety.

Pricing

We expect the Harley-Davidson Nightster 440 to carry a premium over its roadster sibling, the X 440, which starts at Rs. 2.29 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. It will rival the Royal Enfield Classic 350.
