Delhi adopts WhatsApp for bus tickets

Delhi plans to introduce a WhatsApp-based ticketing system for buses, following its success with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation.

Digital system implementation

Transport department officials are working on implementing the digital system for DTC and cluster buses, with a limit on ticket quantities.

Easy metro purchases

Note that passengers can currently purchase metro tickets by messaging 'Hi' to +91-9650855800 or scanning a QR code, but cancellations are not allowed.

Transaction fee details

A small convenience fee applies if the tickets are purchased through card transactions. On the contrary, the UPI-based transactions are free.

Commuter experience boost

The new initiative for bus transportation aims to simplify ticket purchasing, reduce wait times, and improve the overall transit experience for commuters.
