BMW working on i5 electric sedan

BMW readying all-electric i5 sedan

BMW is developing a zero-emission version of the 5 Series sedan called the i5. It will feature a modern design, a luxurious cabin, and dual electric motors.

Platform

BMW i5 will be built on the same platform as the i3 and i7 models. A wagon variant will follow next year. It may be launched in India in 2024.

Design

The BMW i5 sedan will feature a sloping roofline, wide kidney grille, and sleek headlights, while the M Performance version may have a different design.

Range

The BMW i5 sedan will likely have two electric motors, an all-wheel drive, and over 400km of range per charge. Power figures remain undisclosed as of now.

Interior

BMW i5 will have a premium 5-seater cabin with high-end upholstery, cruise control, and iDrive 8.5 infotainment system. It will also have ADAS and multiple airbags.

Price

BMW's i5 sedan will be priced at around $62,000 in the US, according to reports. The automaker will announce the official figures at the time of launch.
