Watch: Thief's hilarious struggle to steal huge TV set
The 'job' of a thief is tough. It requires lots of planning, strategy, and equipment to carry out a big steal. However, not taking into consideration these basic steps, a dim-witted thief in the US struggled hard to steal a brand new 50-inch television set. The local police shared the video of his struggle on social media and it's hilarious. Here's what happened.
Thief quickly grabs the TV and dashes towards car
Recently, Prince George's County Police Department (PGDP) in Maryland shared a video on YouTube cautioning citizens of theft. In the video, a man in a hooded sweatshirt can be seen coming out of a car and running towards the front door of a house. He quickly grabbed an unattended package, a 50-inch television set, and made a dash towards his car.
Man couldn't fit TV set in back seat or trunk
On his way to the car, the thief struggled to carry the box and tripped at a point. He then tried to fit the box in the back seat of the car, but in vain. So, he tried the trunk, but again failed. We're not sure if he underestimated the size of a 50-inch TV set or if he was simply dumb.
Police calls thief determined, says video 'speaks for itself'
After multiple failed attempts, the idiotic thief was finally able to shove it halfway into the back seat of the car. As soon as he was able to do that, he quickly drove away with the open trunk flapping from behind and the back door ajar. Police described the thief as determined and said the video "speaks for itself". It certainly does!
TV owner gets replacement; unhappy that thief still out there
Meanwhile, Marsedah Diggs, the woman who ordered the Rs. 1.15 lakh TV from Walmart, described the incident as ridiculous. "He's (the thief) an idiot," she said. She hoped that he broke the TV into "thousand pieces" before reaching his destination. Meanwhile, she had complained to Walmart and got a replacement. However, she wasn't completely happy knowing that the thief was still out there.
