USIEF announces a range of Fulbright fellowships for Indians
The United States-India Educational Foundation (USIEF) has invited applications for a range of Fulbright scholarships for the 2019-20 session. These are open to Indian students looking to pursue certain Masters, doctoral or professional programs in select universities in the US. There are over 100 fellowships available. Deadlines and qualifying criteria vary. Check out the scholarships on offer below.
Fulbright-Nehru Fellowships
The Fulbright-Nehru Fellowships are available for Masters, Doctoral/Postdoctoral Research, Academic and Professional Excellence and International Education Administrators Seminar. Subjects covered include Arts and Culture, Management, Environmental Studies, Public Administration, Gender Studies, Agricultural Sciences, Bioengineering, Computer Science, Economics and Performing Arts. Among other expenses, it covers J-1 visa support, travel from home, tuition fees and living costs. There are approximately 100 Fulbright-Nehru Fellowships.
Fulbright-Kalam Climate Fellowships
The Fulbright-Kalam Climate Fellowships are offered for doctoral and postdoctoral research. The scholarship provides funds for J-1 visa, a monthly stipend, travel from home, allowances, and subject to conditions, dependent support. The application deadline is July 16. There are roughly six Fulbright-Kalam Climate Fellowships.
Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship and others
The USIEF also offers the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program, a non-degree graduate study and related practical professional experiences for young professionals. The Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Program is for early-career English teachers at college level and related professionals. There's also the Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence Program, the Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Program for International Teachers, and the Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program.
Who are eligible to apply?
Basic qualification conditions for most courses deem that candidates should have a high level of academic/professional achievement; must demonstrate proficiency in English; and mustn't be applying for or holding permanent residence in the US.
