US: Woman guns down four, including self, injures three others
A 26-year-old woman shot three people dead and injured three others at a warehouse complex in Maryland, US, on Thursday morning, police said. The attacker was identified as Snochia Moseley, who after open firing, turned the gun to herself. She died of fatal injuries. Sources privy to the investigation said Moseley was a disgruntled employee and worked temporarily at the facility near Aberdeen.
Within five minutes, three people were killed
At around 9:00 AM (local time) Moseley opened fire outside the facility, and later inside it. The 9mm Glock handgun used was purchased legally. Police reached the spot within 5 minutes, but by then the shooter had killed three people and inflicted her with serious injuries. None of the law enforcement personnel fired any shots. The motive behind this rampage is still unclear.
Four patients with 'priority one gunshot wounds' admitted to hospital
Four patients were rushed to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center with 'priority one gunshot wounds'. Ray Fang, the trauma director at the hospital, said two were stable, and all patients were out of surgery.
In unusually calm locality, this was most chaotic incident: Local
Colleen Hendrickson, a local, said when she heard about the shooting, she assumed it must have taken place far off. "No, it's right outside. It's right on the doorstep," she said. The area is usually calm and this was the most chaotic thing. She saw many ambulances, helicopters, and police vehicles. People were advised to stay clear of the area.
This is the third shooting in two days
On Wednesday, a shooting at an office complex in Middleton, Wisconsin, injured three people. Later that day, a gunman opened fired at Masontown Borough Municipal Center in Pennsylvania which wounded four. In both the incidents, police gunned down the attacker. About the Maryland shooting, Gov. Larry Hogan tweeted, "Our prayers are with all those impacted, including our first responders. The state stands ready to offer any support"
