Why is Twitter asking netizens to 'get off' its website?
In the era of smartphones and social media websites, expressing your feelings face-to-face is slowly becoming a thing of the past. Ironically, microblogging site Twitter, where people interact virtually, share the same thought. So, on Thursday it asked its users to get off its site and go tell someone they love them. It then added, "In person, if you can".

Today, Twitter decided to revive the feelings of love in the old-fashioned way and it didn't mind if people spent some time away from its website. The tweet read, "Get off Twitter for a minute and tell someone you love them. In person, if you can!" The sweet advice was worth it, and Twitter once again won the hearts of netizens.

Twitter's request went viral in no time and it was successful in making many people's day special. Netizens could not stop sharing their 'I love you' moments with their friends, family members, lovers, among others. One netizen wrote, "Done! My sister was having a rough day, and it felt great to hear her smile." Declaring feelings for Twitter, another wrote, "I love you @Twitter."
Some declared their love for their pets; some for themselves
Some netizens also tried Twitter's suggestion with their pets as one wrote, "I said it to my dog and got a lick as a reply." And of course, self-love is also important. "I did! I went to the mirror and told the person in front of me that i love him the most in the entire world," wrote another.
