Donald Trump finally admits that climate change isn't a 'hoax'
President Donald Trump on Sunday backed off from his claim that climate change is a hoax, but said that it's not man-made with permanent impacts and climate will "change back again". Trump accused scientists of having "very big political agenda" and asserted that he doesn't want to put the US, the second-largest emitter of greenhouse gases, at a disadvantage in responding to climate change.
'I don't know that it's man-made': Trump on climate change
When asked whether he still thinks climate change is a hoax, Trump said, "I think something's changing and it'll change back again. I don't think it's a hoax, I think there's probably a difference. But I don't know that it's man-made." "I'll say this. I don't wanna give trillions and trillions of dollars. I don't wanna be put at a disadvantage," he said.
Trump's previous statement on climate change
Trump, who had previously called the climate change a "hoax", last year pulled the US out of the Paris Agreement on climate change arguing the deal agreed by more than 190 nations unfairly benefited countries like India and China and hit American economy, jobs. On the situation in Greenland, he said one doesn't know whether that would have happened with or without the man.
Trump accused scientists of having big political agenda
"I'm not denying climate change. But it could very well go back. You know, we're talking about over millions of years," said Trump. Accusing scientists of having political agenda, he said, "They say we had hurricanes that were far worse than what we had with Michael." "You'd have to show me these scientists," said the US President.
