This 15-year-old Indian is Britain's youngest accountant
In a remarkable news, London-based Indian-origin boy, Ranveer Singh Sandhu, has become Britain's youngest accountant. The 15-year-old, who has opened his own accountancy firm, has set a goal of becoming a millionaire by 25. He started his business, Digital Accounts, in 2016, and launched his second company Ranveer Singh Sandhu two years later. He says that balancing course-work and business isn't that tough.
Sandu has 10 paying clients, charges Rs. 1,100-1,400 per hour
"It isn't that hard juggling school and my business, I haven't had that much stress," Sandhu pointed out. He decided to become an accountant and financial adviser to other young entrepreneurs pretty early in his life. Currently, he has 10 paying clients and charges them somewhere between Rs. 1,100 to Rs. 1,400 per hour. He has now become an inspiration for his friends.
Friends find what I do quite inspiring, says Sandhu
According to Sandhu, "My clients are surprised when they find out my age, but my friends find what I do quite inspiring." In 2016, he received Level 3 CPD Basic Accounting certificate via an online accounting course and set up Digital Accounts in June of the same year. "Everyone loves what I do and people are very supportive of my business," he added.
'My parents are impressed with how far I have come'
While talking about his family, Sandhu said, "My parents are impressed with how far I have come and how I have managed to do this all on my own." His mother, Dalwinder Kaur Sandhu, is an estate agent and father, Aman Singh Sandhu, is a builder. Although he often works from home, he has set up an office nearby in his family's property business.
Ambition is to make money, expand the business internationally: Sandhu
Meanwhile, Sandhu is also planning a holiday and wishes to buy a car once he gets his driving license. Moreover, he is interested to invest in property to build his empire. "My ambition is to make quite a lot of money out of it, expand my business and make it international while helping young people start their businesses at the same time," he said.
Sandhu's real passion lies in helping fellow young entrepreneurs
Although he gives credit to his family's interest in finance for his entrepreneurial zeal, his passion lies in helping fellow young entrepreneurs. Sandhu, who spends all his free time in running the business, also developed his own software to keep tracks of the client's accounts. A few years ago he won Tech Business of the Year prize at the Ultra Education Kids Business Awards.
Decided to do business after realizing gap in the market
Signing off, Sandhu quipped, "I decided to set up my business because I realized there was a gap in the market and I thought I'd be good at it, so I just thought 'why not start my own business'"
