US: 16-year-old teen shoots Telangana man, he dies on spot
In yet another incident which raises concern about gun control in the United States, a 16-year-old boy shot a 61-year-old Telangana man. The victim, identified as Sunil Edla, was shot right outside his residence in Ventnor City in New Jersey. The incident happened on November 15 around 8 PM (local time). Edla belonged to Telangana's Medak district. Here's more.
As he was leaving for work, teen shot him
Edla, who worked as a night auditor in the hospitality industry in Atlantic City, died in a carjacking incident. According to reports, he was leaving for his overnight shift when he was attacked. As he was leaving for work, the teen shot him, took his car and fled. Edla did not survive the gunshot and died on spot.
Edla was planning to visit his mother later this month
Edla had migrated to the US in 1987 and was due to visit home later this month for the 95th birthday of his mother. He planned to celebrate Christmas with his family. In the community, he was famous for playing pianos in churches. The accused teen was tracked on Friday and arrested. He was charged with murder, robbery, carjacking, and possessing a handgun, unlawfully.
