Taliban attacks kill 12 policemen in Afghanistan province
An official said a Taliban assault in Northern Jawzjan province of Afghanistan has killed 12 members of the security forces and wounded another 10. General Faqir Mohammad Jawzjani, provincial police chief in Jawzjan said the attack took place in Qush Typa district yesterday. 30 Talibans were killed and 19 wounded, Jawzjani said, adding, the assault was a failed attempt to capture the district.
Taliban spokesman claims they killed more Afghan officials than mentioned
While claiming responsibility, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid added there was higher number of casualties among the Afghan police than mentioned. Notably, they often exaggerate their claims. Also yesterday, they had attacked a Southern Ghazni province district, killing three and injuring five of the security forces.
