#DreamJobAlert: Sweden's 'Eternal Employment' will pay you to do nothing
Imagine a job where you don't have to do anything, but will get paid anyway. Sounds impractical? Two Swedish artists, Simon Goldin and Jakob Senneby are creating a social experiment titled "Eternal Employment" that will pay you to do nothing. It is a government-funded conceptual art project that will kick-off in the year 2026 in Gothenburg, Sweden. To know more, read on.
The employee can earn a salary over Rs. 1.6 lakh
As per the project, the employed person will just have to report to a train station named Korsvägen. And that's all. Korsvägen is currently under construction in the Gothenburg, Sweden. A salary of about $2,320 (approximately Rs. 1.6 lakh) per month will be paid to the employee. In addition, he/she would receive an increase in annual wage, vacation time-off, and pension provision after retirement.
'Whatever the employee chooses to do constitutes the work'
The job requirement is pretty simple here, which states, "The position holds no duties or responsibilities, other than that it should be carried out at Korsvägen. Whatever the employee chooses to do constitutes the work." The only requirement of the employee is to clock in and clock out at the station. They are not even required to stay at the station throughout the day.
Anyone in the world can apply for 'Eternal Employment'
Anyone in the world can apply for this. The artists behind the project will not be taking any applications before 2025. When the station is closer to its inauguration, a draft of the help-wanted advertisement will be available online. So, what do you think?
