Sushma Swaraj reaches New York to attend 73rd UNGA session
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has reached New York to represent India at the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly. She will hold several bilateral and multilateral meetings with her global counterparts and top UN officials, and address the General Debate on September 29. Leaders from 193 UN member nations to address UNGA
The General Debate commences on September 25. World leaders from 193 UN member states will address the global body. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump will deliver his second address to the UNGA on September 25. In a tweet, Raveesh Kumar, the spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, said Swaraj arrived in New York, "setting the stage for a week of hectic diplomacy".

India called off meeting with Pak FM Qureshi proposed earlier
Earlier, following India's acceptance of Pakistan PM Imran Khan's proposal for a meeting, Swaraj and her Pakistani counterpart Shah Mahmood Qureshi were slated to meet on the sidelines of UNGA. However, India called off the meeting, citing the brutal killings of three policemen in J&K and Islamabad releasing postage stamps "glorifying" militant Burhan Wani. Qureshi will address UNGA in the afternoon on September 29.
