Who's Sultan of Brunei—owner of 7000+ cars—to welcome Modi today
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to arrive in Brunei on Tuesday for a two-day visit. This historic trip marks the first time an Indian PM has visited the Southeast Asian nation. The visit, initiated by an invitation from Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, aims to enhance India's relationship with Brunei and celebrate four decades of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
Sultan Bolkiah's extravagant lifestyle and record-breaking car collection
Sultan Bolkiah, the world's second-longest reigning monarch after Queen Elizabeth II, is renowned for his immense wealth and lavish lifestyle. His net worth of $30 billion primarily stems from Brunei's oil and gas reserves. The Sultan owns over 7,000 luxury vehicles valued at an estimated $5 billion, making it the largest private car collection globally. This includes around 600 Rolls-Royce cars—a feat recognized by the Guinness World Record.

It features five swimming pools, 1,700 bedrooms, 257 baths and 110 garages. The Sultan also owns a private zoo housing 30 Bengal tigers and various bird species, as well as a Boeing 747 aircraft.
