Malaysian CEO killed as his smartphone explodes during charging
Smartphone explosions have become quite common, but deaths due to it aren't. The CEO of a Malaysian company became a rare victim. According to reports, Cradle Fund CEO Nazrin Hassan's smartphone exploded when it was plugged in for charging. Apparently, the blast caused a blunt trauma on the back of his head. When fire and smoke broke out, he couldn't respond and was suffocated.
No one knows which phone was being charged
Hassan had two phones: a Blackberry and a Huawei. Both the phones were on charge when the incident happened last week. It is not yet known which phone exploded- the fire damaged most things in the bedroom, reports said. "Who would have thought such an innocuous routine procedure is the reason three young kids will grow up without their father," his brother-in-law posted online.
Hassan is survived by his wife and three children
According to a statement by Cradle Fund, "The post-mortem report concluded the cause of death as being complication of blast injuries attributable to an exploding hand phone that was being charged next to him." Apart from the children, the 45-year-old left behind his wife.
