The 16-year-old child of tech industry giants Stewart Butterfield, co-founder of Slack, and Caterina Fake, founder of Flickr, has been reported missing. Mint Butterfield was last seen on Sunday at 10:00pm in Bolinas, California in the United States according to Marin County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Deputy Jose Suarez. The teenager was residing with their mother and attending a private boarding school in Napa at the time of their disappearance.

Mint is feared to be in the infamous Tenderloin district of San Francisco, an area known for its high crime rate, homelessness issue and open drug dealing. The teenager is described as 5-foot-tall with curly brown-red hair and pierced eyebrows. At the time of their disappearance, Mint was wearing a black sweatshirt, flannel pajama pants, black boots and possibly carrying a gray suitcase. Reports suggest that Mint has struggled with substance abuse in the past and frequented the Tenderloin district.
Deputy Suarez has called on the public to assist
Deputy Suarez has called on the public to assist with any information about Mint's whereabouts. The Marin County Sheriff's Office is working closely with detectives from the San Francisco Police Department to locate Mint. The report of Mint's disappearance was filed by their mother, according to the San Francisco Standard.
