Russia, Ukraine expected to hold talks today as invasion continues
What's the story
Days after Russia launched an invasion of Ukraine, the two countries are reportedly set to hold the first round of talks in Belarus on Monday morning.
The United Nations is also expected to hold two key meetings on Monday.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had on Sunday agreed to hold talks "without preconditions" as Russia heightened global tensions by putting its nuclear forces on alert.

A Russian delegation has arrived in Belarus to hold talks with Ukraine, the Ifax news agency reported citing a Kremlin spokesperson.
The talks will be held near the Pripyat River as opposed to Gomel city as previously proposed by Russia, according to NPR.
Ukrainian officials said the Zelenskyy government is ready for any peace talks that would end the fighting and the invasion.

The Russian Defence Ministry on Sunday acknowledged Russian casualties, however, did not release any figures.

The UN Security Council on Sunday voted to call for an emergency special session in the UN General Assembly on Ukraine for the first time in four decades.
Of the 15 member states, 11 voted in favor, Russia voted against, while China, India, and the UAE abstained.
Both the 193-nation UNGA and the UNSC will hold separate meetings on Monday.
UNSC
What happened during yesterday's UNSC meeting?
Kyiv told the UNSC said that enemy deaths amounted to nearly 4,300 in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
It reported that it has taken 200 prisoners of war; a claim denied by Russia.
On the other hand, Russia denied that its forces targeted civilians.
"They're not shelling civilian infrastructure," said the Russian Federation representative, adding that Ukrainian forces have been using human shields in the war.

India addresses its concerns at UNSC
India informed the UNSC that it continues to remain "deeply concerned" about Indians in Ukraine and called for an immediate cessation of violence.
"Our evacuation efforts have been adversely impacted by the complex and uncertain situation at the border crossings. Taking into consideration the totality of circumstances, we decided to abstain," said TS Tirumurti, India's Permanent Representative to UN.
