Robert Hardy, Harry Potter actor who played Cornelius Fudge dies
Robert Hardy, whom most of us know as the actor who played the stuck up Minister of Magic, Cornelius Fudge, has passed away at the age of 91. Hardy is also known for his many portrayals of legendary British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and for starring in the renowned TV show, 'All Creatures Great and Small'. Let's remember this phenomenal actor.
A tremendous life celebrated by those who loved him
In a statement on his death, his family described him as ""Gruff, elegant, twinkly, and always dignified" and that he was celebrated by those who loved him and enjoyed his work. His children further remembered him as a respected historian, linguist and a music lover.
The many great roles of Robert Hardy
Hardy, who hails from Gloucestershire began his acting career with the Shakespeare Memorial Company portraying Shakespearean plays including Henry V and Twelfth Night on stage. He played Winston Churchill in 'The Audience' (2013) alongside Dame Helen Mirren and most recently in 'Winston Churchill: 100 Days That Saved Britain' (2015) and has appeared in well-known TV shows including Foyle's War and Little Dorrit.

Acknowledging his great work, Hardy's co-star Christopher Timothy said that he was a 'great fellow' and a 'fascinating man' and that "he has left an unbelievable legacy of fantastic work for many generations to enjoy and appreciate. Expressing her grief, Harry Potter author J K Rowling said, "He was such a talented actor and everybody who worked with him on Potter loved him."
