QS Rankings: IIM Ahmedabad at no. 49; full list here
The Harvard Business School in the US has topped the QS World University Rankings: Global MBA Rankings 2018, leaving behind other high-ranking institutes around the world. From India, IIM-Ahmedabad (49th), IIM-Bangalore (58th) and the Indian School of Business (93rd) have made it to the top-100. Here're the top choices for an MBA, according to the latest rankings, and impressive feats achieved by these institutions.
Harvard Business School (US) and INSEAD (France)
Harvard Business School under the Harvard University topped the list. Recently, Grammy-winning artist Swizz Beatz earned a Harvard certificate in the Owner/President Management Program from Harvard. Second is France's INSEAD, which recently made the news for its successful experiment aimed at bridging the grade gap between male and female students. At least one Singapore-based bank has adapted the exercise for its employees.
HEC Paris (France) and Stanford Graduate School of Business (US)
The HEC Paris was ranked third. A few days ago, it launched the OMIE Impact Fellowship to award scholarships to deserving candidates in the Online Masters in Innovation and Entrepreneurship program. According to Forbes, only 6% applicants get into the MBA at Stanford Graduate School of Business, the fourth on the list (Harvard and MIT Sloan take 11%); however, its graduates are the happiest.
London Business School (UK) and Wharton Business School (US)
The London Business School made it to the fifth place. Five of its alumni were recently named in the Thinkers50 global ranking - "more than any other academic institute in Europe". The Wharton Business School at the Pennsylvania University that came sixth, has been ranked first at least ten times in the Financial Times Global MBA Ranking. IvankaTrump is an alumnus.
MIT Sloan School of Management (US) and Columbia University (US)
The MIT Sloan School of Management was ranked seventh. Earlier this month, it launched a new Business Analytics Certificate which will focus on data science and business analytics in different fields. Columbia University, US' fifth oldest institution of higher learning, came eighth in the list. Just last week, it announced it is opening a new academic outpost in Paris in 2018.
Saïd Business School (UK) and IE Business School (Spain)
The Saïd Business School at Oxford was placed ninth in the list. Recently, it announced a new digital blockchain strategy short course in partnership with GetSmarter, especially for managers, executives and professionals. IE Business School made up the top-10. Two years ago, it became the first European school to set up an office at Toronto, one of 25 IE outposts around the world.
