Britain's Prince Harry has officially declared the United States of America his new domicile. The revelation comes after the 39-year-old attended the annual general meeting of Travalyst, a sustainable travel nonprofit organization founded by the Duke of Sussex in 2019, on Wednesday. Company return documents of Travalyst obtained by the Daily Mail revealed that Prince Harry has formally changed his residence from the UK to the US, underscoring his intention to establish a permanent base in America.
The Sussexes are settled in Montecito, California
Harry, along with his wife Meghan Markle, relocated to the US in 2020. They have since made their home in Montecito, California, where they live with children Archie and Lilibet. The family previously resided at Frogmore Cottage in the UK, a wedding gift from the late queen. However, they vacated this residence in 2023 and have not maintained an official UK residence since then. Their visits to the UK now require them to stay with friends or book hotel accommodations.
Prince Harry has called America his new home previously, too
In a 2022 interview with Today, Harry shared his feelings about his new home. He stated, "Home for me, now, for the time being, is in the States. And it really feels that way, as well. We've been welcomed with open arms and have got such a great community up in Santa Barbara." His recent paperwork filing formalizes these sentiments and confirms his commitment to his new residence.

During the general meeting of Travalyst, Harry underscored the significance of communities in shaping travel and tourism experiences. He stated, "Travel and tourism rely on destinations, held together by communities, without which we have nowhere to travel to. Communities are the beating heart of travel, and we must do better by the people who are the custodians of the places we visit." This was his first time putting out public remarks since Kate Middleton's cancer diagnosis announcement last month.
