'Swasdee PM Modi': PM Modi addresses Indian community in Bangkok
What's the story
A short while ago, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at the Nimibutr Stadium in Bangkok for an event titled 'Sawasdee PM Modi', where he addressed the Indian diaspora.
He arrived in Thailand on Saturday for a three-day visit.
He is also scheduled to attend 16th ASEAN-India Summit on Sunday, and the 14th East Asia Summit on Monday.

Notably, 'Sawasdee' is a term used by the Thai for greetings and goodbyes.
At the event, PM Modi launched a commemorative coin, marking 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev.
The event also witnessed the release of a Thai translation of Tamil classic 'Tirukkural.'
On sidelines of these crucial summits, PM Modi will also hold bilateral meetings with several world leaders during his visit.

PM Modi extended Chhath Puja wishes to Indian community
PM Modi started his address by wishing the Indian community on the occasion of Chhath Puja.
Further, while praising the Thai royal family, he said, "The affinity, the royal family of Thailand has for India, symbolizes our deep friendly and historical relations."
"Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn is an expert in Sanskrit language and has a deep interest in the culture," he added.

Emphasizing on bilateral relations between the two nations, PM Modi said, "The India-Thailand relationship is not just between governments. Every moment of history, every event of history has developed, broadened our relationship and reached new heights. These relationships are of heart, soul, faith, and spirituality."

Further, PM Modi said that the transformation that India is undergoing made people chose him for a second term.
Referring to the abrogation of contentious Article 370 that granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir, PM Modi said, "We are now working toward making the impossible come true. They were unimaginable. India has taken a massive decision to free itself from separatism and terrorism."

"We are working to ensure house for every poor Indian"
Highlighting the achievements of his government during the previous regime, PM Modi said, "In the last 5 years, we have connected every Indian to a bank account and provided electricity."
"By 2022, when India celebrates 75 years of Independence, we are working to ensure a house for every poor in India," he added.
He also shed light on India's declaration about becoming open-defecation free.

Also, inviting the Indian diaspora to visit the Kartarpur Sahib, PM Modi said, "The Kartarpur Corridor will open on November 9 and pilgrims with be able to visit the Kartarpur Sahib directly. I invite all of you to visit India and the Kartarpur Sahib."
