    Modi will leave for Oman today, after completing UAE visit

    What's the story

    After his historic visit to Palestine, PM Modi arrived in the UAE on Saturday on a two-day visit as part of his four-nation tour.

    Modi was received by the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Mohammed Bin Zayed Ali Nahyan and his second visit to UAE saw many firsts.

    Later today, PM Modi will leave for Oman's capital, Muscat.

    Another first-ever feat for PM Modi

    According to the Indian ambassador to Oman, Modi will address a congregation from the royal box in Sultan Qaboos stadium, Muscat. The royal box is only used by Sultan Qaboos himself, and Modi is the first dignitary to be given the honour to use it.

    Talks

    UAE and India sign five pacts

    After being greeted by the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and others at the airport, Modi left for the presidential palace where he had talks with the Crown Prince and the deputy supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

    Wide-ranging talks between Modi and the Crown Prince resulted in the signing of five agreements related to different sectors.

    Historic MoU signed between India and UAE

    The five pacts signed between India and UAE were related to the energy sector, manpower, railways, and financial services.

    Among them is a historic MoU signed between a consortium of Indian oil companies (BPRL, IOCL, & OVL) and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) for the acquisition of a 10% participating interest in Abu Dhabi's offshore Lower Zakum Concession.

    India and UAE are looking boost growing relationship

    The pacts signed between India and UAE are set to boost an already growing economic and political relationship between the two countries. The UAE is home to 3 million people of Indian origin, and UAE's investment in India is estimated to be above $11 billion.

    PM Modi to witness founding of historic Hindu temple

    Modi met members of a temple committee who are set to lay the foundation stone of the first Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi.

    The Prime Minister will watch a live screening of the event, and flag it off in front of the Indian community, whom he will address in Dubai.

    Modi will also deliver a keynote address at the World Government Summit in Dubai.
