Modi meets French President Macron, US VP Vance in Paris

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Paris on Monday for a three-day visit, his sixth to France.
He was given a warm welcome by French President Emmanuel Macron at a dinner hosted at the Elysee Palace.
"Welcome to Paris, my friend @narendramodi," Macron posted on X, sharing a video of Modi's arrival.
The dinner was hosted ahead of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Summit, which Modi will co-chair with Macron.

During the dinner, Modi also met US Vice President JD Vance, their first meeting since the latter assumed office last month.
The Prime Minister's Office shared photos of the three leaders interacting at the event.
Modi's visit seeks to bolster India-France ties with talks on strategic cooperation and technology.
He will co-chair the AI Action Summit with Macron, interacting with global leaders and industry executives on AI advancements.

The summit centers on fostering cooperation for the responsible and ethical use of AI technologies.
The previous editions of the summit were held in the UK in 2023 and South Korea in 2024.
Before leaving for France, PM Modi stated that the bilateral segment of his visit will allow him to evaluate the progress on the 2047 Horizon Roadmap for India-France strategic cooperation with his "friend" President Macron.

PM Modi to inaugurate India's 1st consulate in Marseille
Apart from attending the summit, Modi will also inaugurate India's first consulate in Marseille with Macron.
The two leaders will also visit the Mazargues War Cemetery to pay tribute to Indian soldiers who fought in World War I.
His itinerary includes addressing business leaders and participating in discussions at the India-France CEO's Forum.
The tour ends with a major visit to Cadarache, the home of the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER), where India is a major partner.
