5 of a family killed in blast in Peshawar hotel
At least five members of a family, including two children, were killed and two others critically injured in a powerful explosion in northwest Pakistan's Peshawar today. The blast occurred on the fourth-floor of a hotel near Bilal Town area. The victims belonged to Hangu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The blast is suspected to have been caused by an explosive device or a gas leak.
Probe is on to ascertain the cause of blast
Chief Capital City Police (CCPO) Qazi Jamil ur Rehman said fire engulfed the entire floor after the blast. He said security forces were looking for evidence to ascertain the cause of the blast. The Bomb Disposal Squad has also reached the spot, the CCPO added. The injured have been rushed to Lady Reading Hospital, where their condition was stated to be critical.
