Paraguay official signs agreement with Indian fugitive's fake country, resigns
Arnaldo Chamorro, Paraguay's Agricultural Ministry chief of staff, faced dismissal for endorsing a "proclamation" from representatives of Indian fugitive Nithyananda, a self-styled guru from a fictitious nation. Accused of severe charges, including sexual assault, Nithyananda's deception of Chamorro prompted his replacement. Nithyananda resurfaced in 2020, asserting the establishment of a new nation. Presently, his whereabouts remain unknown after fleeing India.
Chamorro signed agreement with representatives from 'United States of Kailasa'
According to reports, the chief of staff was duped by representatives claiming affiliation with a fictitious country named the "United States of Kailasa." Chamorro informed reporters on Thursday that the "officials" told him the country was a South American island. The official website of Kailasa describes the nation as the "revival of an ancient enlightened Hindu civilizational nation being restored by displaced Hindus worldwide."
The agreement was to seek 'diplomatic relations' with Paraguay
Soon, the copy of the agreement signed made rounds on social media and it stated that the United States of Kailasa wanted to explore diplomatic relations with Paraguay. Additionally, the agreement also sought to "support the admission of the United States of Kailasa as a sovereign and independent state in various international organizations including, among others, the United Nations."
In return, United States of Kailasa offered to help Paraguay
During interrogation, Chamorro revealed that the agreement was shared with him as a "memorandum of understanding," which also mentioned certain clauses about the fake United States of Kailasa offering help to Paraguay "with multiple issues like irrigation." The man further shared that he had never heard of Kailasa before and where it was located. The representatives had met Chamorro and agriculture minister Carlos Giménez.
Paraguay isn't the first country to be scammed by Kailasa
This recent incident has sparked a discussion (and mockery!) as the same scandal experienced by other nations also came to light. Per reports, the representatives of the United States of Kailasa somehow managed to participate in a UN conference that happened in Geneva this year, shockingly signing agreements with the US and Canada. The photos of the same are all over their social media!
Years ago, the 'godman' established 'Republic of Kailasa' off Ecuador
In March 2023, the self-styled godman had scammed the American city of Newark by having the officials sign a "sister city agreement." Not only that, in 2019, Nithyananda established a "cosmic country" on a private island off the coast of Ecuador. The island country was called the "Republic of Kailasa," and publicized to the globe as "the world's greatest and purest Hindu nation."
Nithyananda has been accused of abduction and rape
The self-anointed guru hails from India and has been on the run after he was accused of multiple abductions of children and making them collect donations for his ashram. He has also been convicted of raping one of his disciples, and since his escape, the Gujarat Police have no information about his whereabouts. Despite being a fugitive, he conducts live YouTube broadcasts.
Police raided ashram and found kids verbally and physically abused
A few years ago, Gujarat Police raided Nithyananda's ashram in Ahmedabad and released several young children who were kidnapped and beaten. They had been locked up in the ashram for weeks. They also released a woman who was raped for five years by him.
Nithyananda claims to delay sunrise, see through walls, cure blindness
Nithyananda claims to possess "spiritual abilities," which have earned him millions of followers and disciples. These powers include delaying the sunrise by 40 minutes, the ability to see through walls, curing blindness in children by opening their third eye, and making cows speak in Sanskrit and Tamil! He has further claimed that his followers could increase height, view remotely, and perform body scanning.
