Despite video proof, Pakistan denies surgical strikes calling it 'farcical'
Reacting to videos of September 2016 surgical strikes which aired on Indian news channels on Wednesday, Pakistan has once again said that no operation happened in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK). Pakistan Foreign Office spokesman, Mohammad Faisal said these claims were part of India's imagination. Notably, India's stand is that we debunked terror pads in a precise attack and the videos further prove it.
'India may dream on,' says Pakistan
"I have said it before and will say it again. The farcical claims of surgical strikes is a figment of Indian imagination and nothing else! They may dream on," Mohammad Faisal said.
Pakistan's spokesperson talks about Indian envoy's cancelled visit to Gurudwara
Faisal also spoke about the row which erupted after Indian envoy was denied entry in Pakistan's gurudwara Panja Sahib, despite all clearances. "The Indian High Commission was informed about the escalated situation and the heightened anti-India sentiments of the Sikhs and agreed to cancel their visit," he said and added attempts to politicize the matter would be 'counterproductive'.
We issued visas to Indian Sikhs for religious events: Pakistan
In a bid to assert Pakistan's stand, Faisal said 300 Indians Sikhs were issued visas to participate in their religious event. He boasted of Pakistan arranging a special train from Attari to Wagah. When probed about the transfer of officer-in-charge of investigation in 26/11 Mumbai attacks, Faisal said the probe has been underway for many years. "The state functions continue uninterrupted," he claimed.
Pakistan rejects videos, India sees political battle over it
While across the border Pakistan has rejected the strikes, at home the videos have sparked a political controversy. Congress attacked BJP by saying they used army's sacrifices to glorify PM Modi, and to get votes. Striking back, BJP said Congress needs to tell whether they believe the videos or not. Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said Congress only wanted to demoralize the army.
