Video: Explosion rocks ammunition depot in Pakistan's Sialkot
A massive explosion has been reported in the northern Pakistani city of Sialkot. The explosion was so powerful that it was reportedly heard near the cantonment area in the Punjab province. It is said to have occurred at an ammunition storage area in the area which is controlled by the Pakistani Army. So far, no deaths have been reported in the incident.
Short-circuiting led to the explosion: Pakistan army
The explosion was a result of short-circuiting, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of Pakistan Armed Forces said. "Due to short-circuiting, an accidental fire broke out in an ammunition shed near Sialkot Garrison", the ISPR said. It was immediately contained that the fire was extinguished "effective and timely response" and there was no loss of life or damage to property, it added.

Several videos were posted on social media after the explosion. In these videos, huge flames and thick columns of grey and black smoke could be seen rising from the site of the blasts.

Information about the Sialkot Army base
The Sialkot cantonment is one of the oldest and most important army bases in Pakistan. The area is said to be among the most secure locations of the Army. It is located adjacent to the city and just 13.5 kilometers from the international border between India and Pakistan. It was established by the British Indian Army in 1852.
