US-man bashes mother's head with baseball-bat, burns body in backyard
A 34-year-old man in Connecticut, US, has confessed to gruesomely murdering his mother: he bashed her head and face with a baseball bat, then burned her body in the backyard for eight hours. Kyle Tucker called it "self-defense", claiming his mother Donna had tried to poison him over 20 times. Police said he had mental-health issues since before, but had never displayed aggression towards Donna.
The case came to light when sister filed 'missing' complaint
The probe into the case began when Denise, Donna's sister, filed a missing persons report on June 8, Friday. Kyle, who stayed with Donna, had apparently told her that Donna had gotten drunk and left with an unknown man the day before, but Denise found the story unlikely. When cops arrived at the house, Kyle was already a suspect due to his mental condition.
"God got into my body": Kyle confesses to mother's murder
Saturday, when police questioned Kyle, he confessed his mother had been dead "several hours" before the missing complaint was filed. He provided explicit details: "God got into my body" and led him to the kitchen with a baseball bat around 5am Thursday. He struck his mother on her head and face, then dragged her to the backyard and set the body on fire.
To remove evidence, he re-painted wall, scrubbed floor with chemicals
Next, he came back to the kitchen to remove evidence. He admitted to scrubbing the floor with chemicals and re-painting a wall when he couldn't get the blood off it. Police had noticed both the fresh paint and the strong odor of chemicals when they visited. At 3pm, Kyle went out to get more gas so he could continue burning his mother's body.
"My brother killed my mother": Morgan told police
In the meantime, police also spoke to Kyle's brother Morgan in Texas, who reported seeing bizarre tweets from his brother's account. In one, Kyle had written: "i don't mind admitting it, Donna's favorite son was Ryan & her second favorite Mason. Ryan's an awesome dude & Mason's a big time kid, so at least they're worthy competitors for our moma's love."
Bail set at $5mn, next hearing on June 19
Kyle, who's been arrested, was arraigned yesterday for murder and tampering with evidence. Bail has been set at $5mn. The case will next be heard on June 19. Police said they had visited the Tuckers before too for disturbances he had caused, but nothing serious.
