Man puts girlfriend on sale, bid reaches Rs. 68 lakh
What do you do when you're angry with your partner? You ignore them, don't talk to them or worse, dump them. But not Dale Leeks. Leeks went a step ahead and put his girlfriend, Kelly Greaves, on sale. Yes, you heard it right. He put his girlfriend on sale on eBay, describing her like a used car and the bid reached Rs. 68 lakh. How weird is that!
Why did he decide to auction her off?
Leeks, who apparently didn't mean to sell his girlfriend Greaves, was angry with her when she flogged him at his back while they both were at a riding shop. This action by Greaves led to her "sale".
The misogynist "sale" description
Comparing Greaves to a car, Leeks, who lives in Colchester, Essex, wrote, "Starts ok but after a while, there's a constant whining noise that I can't seem to stop. Bodywork is fairly tidy but close-up shows signs of wear. No serious damage but you can tell that she's been used." He also added, "First thing in the morning she can be very temperamental."
But, can you sell humans on internet?
While it was apparently done in light (but crass) humor, Leeks couldn't believe that the bid went upto Rs. 68 lakh. Some people participated in the bid and he got messages from US and Australia, but some got seriously offended by the joke. Naturally, the ad was pulled down by eBay as it doesn't allow the sale of humans.
