Harris' husband admits to cheating; reportedly got daughter's nanny pregnant
Doug Emhoff, the husband of United States Vice President Kamala Harris, has admitted to having an extramarital affair during his first marriage. The admission came in response to a report by the Daily Mail that accused him of having an affair with the family's nanny, who is also a teacher at his children's private school, and getting her pregnant. "During my first marriage, Kerstin and I went through some tough times on account of my actions," Emhoff told CNN.

"I took responsibility, and in the years since, we worked through things as a family and have come out stronger on the other side," he said. Emhoff was married to Kerstin from 1992 to 2009, with whom he shares two adult children — Cole, 29, and Ella, 25. The affair reportedly led to the dissolution of their marriage.

According to the Daily Mail report, the nanny became pregnant as a result of the affair but did not keep the baby. The circumstances surrounding the baby remain unclear, including whether Emhoff was involved in the child's life. Following the revelation of her pregnancy, she had to leave her job as a teacher at The Willows, an elite private elementary school in Culver City, California.

According to CNN, President Joe Biden's vetting committee was aware of the relationship and the circumstances surrounding the affair four years ago, when Harris was going through the running mate selection process. A source also told the news channel that Emhoff had disclosed the affair to Harris before their marriage, and that the affair ended years before Emhoff started dating the future VP.
