Missing 20-year-old Indian-origin student of Cornell University found dead
A 20-year-old Indian origin student of New York's Cornell University was found dead after having been missing since two days. Aalaap Narasipura's body was recovered on May 19 from Fall Creek, a little upstream from Ithaca Falls. Police said prima facie, there's no evidence of foul play. The electrical engineering student was reported missing from May 17.
Body was found by NY state scuba team
Narasipura was last seen early morning on May 17. He was dressed in shorts and a flannel shirt, with blue socks and leather sandals. Police had conducted regular searches around the gorges and natural areas nearby, and issued photos and descriptions. The New York state scuba team was eventually brought in; they discovered the body. Investigation is on to find out what happened.
Cornell offers tributes to Narasipura
Vice President for Student and Campus Life at Cornell, Ryan Lombardi, condoled the death of the "ambitious student", saying he was an active member of the "Ultimate Frisbee team, enjoyed taking photos, and planned to continue at Cornell to pursue a Master of Engineering degree".
