Indian-origin doctor found dead in the US
An Indian-origin doctor in Michigan was found dead in the passenger seat of a car in mysterious circumstances. The body of 32-year-old Ramesh Kumar, who worked in the urology department at the Henry Ford Hospital, was found in the car about 90 miles outside Detroit on May 4. His family has ruled out the possibility of it being a hate crime.
Ramesh stopped coming to work, didn't answer father's calls
Ramesh's friends got concerned when the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences graduate didn't show up for work. A Henry Ford doctor called up his father, Narendra Kumar, to enquire; he didn't get any response when he called and texted his son. When the former president of American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin didn't find his son at his apartment either, he alerted police.
Case under investigation even as some reports claim murder
Authorities found the body in the car after hours of search; it was identified as Ramesh Kumar by late night. Some media reports claimed Ramesh was shot to death. Police have refused to comment yet, since the case is under investigation.
